Transom’s working on an export feature and I don’t know if A Novel Idea includes that feature in the $2.99 upgrade or not. What they don’t offer and it was a make or delete point for me, was the ability to export the work. Both apps are fairly simple to use and offer sections on characters, locations, scenes and ideas. I found two apps that I liked and both were free: Transom and A Novel Idea. Way different from how I usually write my posts, which is on the laptop at my desk.Īlthough, there are plenty of apps for writers for taking notes and writing longer passages (the aforementioned ByWord as well as Compositions and Textilus are my faves), I really wanted something specifically for fiction writing. I started dictating it into my iPhone before we left the house, worked on editing it in ByWord while I waited for my daughter at an audition and finished it up at home on the iPad. It’s all about reaching my goals in 2016 and trying new ways to achieve them. I spend quite a bit of time shuttling my daughter around and rather than scrolling through memes or watching Netflix while I’m waiting, I want to get some work done. I’ve been looking for a writing app so I could could organize and work on my novels while on the go. Working on a novel? Great app for writers of fiction!
